DIY Deep Conditioning Hair Mask Using Shea Butter & Flaxseed Oil
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons shea butter
- 1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 5 drops of your favorite essential oil (optional for fragrance)
Instructions:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the shea butter in short intervals until it becomes soft and easily mixable. You can also use the double boiler method to melt your shea butter.
- Add the flaxseed oil and honey to the melted shea butter. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined.
- If desired, add a few drops of your preferred essential oil for a pleasant fragrance. Mix thoroughly.
- Let the mixture cool down to room temperature. This will allow the mask to solidify and become easier to apply.
- Once the mixture has cooled and solidified, use a hand mixer to whip it until it becomes creamy and smooth.
- Transfer the hair mask into a clean, airtight container for storage.
To Use:
- Start with clean, damp hair.
- Take a small amount of the DIY hair mask and warm it up between your palms.
- Apply the mask generously to your hair, focusing on the mid-lengths to ends. Make sure to distribute it evenly.
- Gently massage the mask into your scalp for added nourishment.
- Once applied, cover your hair with a shower cap or wrap it in a warm towel to create a heat-activated conditioning treatment.
- Leave the mask on for at least 30 minutes.
- After the desired duration, rinse out the mask thoroughly with warm water.
- Shampoo and condition your hair as usual.
